MEMS Wafer Processing Specialist

 About the Opportunity:

We offer this part-time contract position in state-of-the-art MEMS wafer processing. We offer flexible work hours and great opportunity for a technologist who is results orientated and desires the challenge of working in a development atmosphere with a small team of talented employees.

 Responsibilities:

  • Lead clean room activities to develop unique processes for wafer fabrication
  • Develop and document processes for creation of 3-D single crystal silicon structures
  • Participate in development of mask sets and process sequences for MEMS devices
  • Perform testing, materials research, and characterization at the UCSB Nanofabrication and the UCSB Materials Research Labs.

Requirements:

  • Qualified on the deep reactive ion etcher the UCSB Nanofabrication laboratory
  • Qualified on the photolithography equipment at the UCSB Nanofabrication laboratory
  • Qualified to perform wet chemical etching
  • Qualified to perform thin film metallization at the UCSB Nanofabrication laboratory
  • Qualified to perform thin film characterization of thickness and composition
  • Formal student access to the UCSB Nanofabrication laboratory
  • Access to the UCSB Materials Research Labs
  • Partial completion of a bachelors, masters, or PhD in science, biology, physics and/or engineering
